Welcoming only one group per stay, Zenagi is a private resort offering all-inclusive stays including accommodation, breakfast, lunch & dinner and exclusive guided-tours.

The concept is to explore the astonishing Japanese countryside with your private guides to create an unforgettable experience in the Kiso valley.

The Kiso valley is mostly famous for the Nakasendo road and its historical post towns. The region is also famous for Mt. Ontake known as “the Mountain of God” as well as art & crafts including ceramics and woodworking practiced by craftsmen proud of a 1200 years’ history.

Zenagi offers cultural experiences including the Nakasendo road hike, the pilgrimage of Mt. Ontake and makie (lacquerware powder decoration) experience with a historical family of artisans. Enjoy outdoor activities with former Olympic athletes in private natural spots especially with our ‘River retreat’ activity taking placing inside a national forest usually not open to the public. During this special experience, walk along and swim in the natural waters cascading from the Japanese Alps and reach up an astonishing waterfall that will be entirely yours.

Only at Zenagi, guests can experience an exquisite slow food cuisine of game meat or natural mushrooms in menus produced by two Michelin-starred chefs.
