Daio Wasabi Farm

Wasabi can only be grown in the purest, cleanest water, and Azumino is blessed with sparkling clean spring water fed by snowmelt from the Japanese Alps. The Daio Wasabi Farm takes advantage of this natural bounty and grows some of the highest quality Japanese horseradishes.
The farm itself is a pleasure to stroll through and offers many wasabi-related creations including wasabi flavored soft serve ice cream. In addition, cooking lessons using wasabi are available. A popular way to enjoy the tranquil streams around the farm is to tour by clear bottom boat. In the vicinity are some romantic waterwheels made famous in director Kurosawa Akira's movie "Dreams."
