Various Locations 雪遊び
Working the throttle of a snowmobile or sliding down a hill on a sled, a snowy wonderland all around you, playing in the snow is one of the most exhilarating ways to enjoy winter in Nagano. You don’t have to go to the trouble of learning how to ski or snowboard – playing in the snow can be as fun as just having a snowball fight. For more excitement, snowmobiling is an exciting option, with children's models for kids 5 years old and up, and light ones for ladies available, too. There's also snow rafting – getting towed behind a snowmobile on an inflated “banana boat”. Several ski areas also offer snow cat rides. Eating a meal inside an igloo such as at Kamakura Village in Iiyama has recently become a popular way of enjoying Nagano’s snowy world, too.
Check out our Hakuba, Madarao, and Shigakogen pages for more details on snowmobiling.
