Hi will get JR East Pass (Nagano, Niigatta)
Plan to visit Takato Castle Park on 13 Apr from Tokyo.
Shinjuku to Chino then take bus to Takato Castle Park.
May I know where can I find bus schedule from Chino to Takato Castle Park (& bus returning schedule)?
I read that bus from Chino to Takato Castle Park abt 50 min cost 1390 yen 1 way, one bus every 1-4 hr, that\’s not very frequent?
If it\’s not so convenient to travel to this park then may need to skip 🙁
You can see the bus schedules for the Takato-JR Inashi Station and Takato-JR Chino Station buses on this digital flyer. The train station rows are highlighted in pink, and Takato Castle’s rows are white.
The Chino bus runs 4 times a day about once every two hours, and it costs 1,390 yen to ride round-trip.
I hope that helps!
Hi Thanks so much for your reply! 🙂
planning maybe stay a nite in Chino, then next morning go to Takato Park.
Seem not much information I can find about Chino in website. Wish to find out beside the park, any other nearby sightseeing place or shopping mall? Also want to find hotel accommodation.
You can find more information about Chino’s sightseeing and accommodations at the Suwa Tourism homepage. It’s in Japanese but it has plenty of language options (machine-translated). You’ll see information about the whole Suwa region, including Chino.
hi thanks for reply!
am checking if there is luggage locker at station Shiojiri, Chino & Joetsumyoko ?
tarvelling with a slightly bigger than cabin size luggage.
How much about the locker cost so can get ready enough coin thanks!
Each station has coin lockers so you should be able to fit your luggage in one. For a locker with dimensions of H84XW34XD60, it will cost about 600 yen. If your luggage doesn’t fit, many tourist information centers can hold on to luggage during their open hours (usually costs about 500 yen).
Hi thanks for reply!
plan to go Takato Castle Park either on 15 April or 17 April, may I know can still see cherry blossom on the tree?
As I understand this year cherry blossom bloomed much earlier due to warm weather.
I can’t say for sure since the weather is subject to change. The park will probably have passed full bloom by then and began losing its petals. If you use Facebook, the Nagano Prefecture Ina City Tourism Association page has been posting regular updates with photographs of Takato Castle Park. Using that, you can decide whether or not it is worth visiting the park.
We’ve also updated our cherry blossoms forecast with new bloom dates based on the high temperatures.
Thanks so much for your patience in answering my question. Thanks for the information!
Just curious the date beside the place eg. Takato Castle Park (8 April) – is it mean best view till 8 April only? or the date means something else?
April 8th is our predicted best viewing date, but usually the trees look great for up to three days before and after.
