I am traveling to the snow Mao key park March 31dt 2019. I have read there is a 1 day pass but someone posted the booth was closed on a Sunday. I\\\’d this pass still available for my dates and are they sold on Sundays? Also please advise on current weather conditions/temperatures. Is it still chilly enough that the monkeys are in the water? Last question…and idea of feeding times this time of year? Thank you on advanve! I know I have a lot of questions! I can\\\’t wait to get there!
You can see information about the snow monkey pass here. It used to be a 1-day pass, but it now covers two days and costs 3,500 yen (1,750 for children under 13). You can purchase it at the Nagano Dentetsu Nagano Station ticket window during operating hours (approx. 6:00 to 23:00, 7 days a week).
The end of March probably will not be cold enough for the monkeys to spend much time in the hot spring, but you may find them enjoying a soak during the morning when it’s chillier. You can check if the monkeys are taking bathes by looking at the live cameras on Jigokudani Yaen Koen’s website.
Unfortunately, I do not know exactly when they feed the monkeys, but I expect the feed them once in the morning and once again in the early afternoon.
I hope that helps!
