Luggage lockers- chino or takato

Hi, I am planning a trip to takato castle park to see the cherry blossoms on 17 April 2019.

The plan is to go Tokyo- Chino station, take the shuttle from Chino to Takato castle park, take the shuttle back to Chino Station and then continue on to stay at Matsumoto for the night.

Issue is we will have our luggage with us. Will there be somewhere at Chino or Takato where we can store it while we wander around takato castle park?

Also- when will the 2019 shuttle timetable be available?

Thank you

Hi Amy,

There are some coin lockers available at Chino Station that you can use to store your luggage. There are 6 large coin lockers (H84xW34xD60) that cost 600 yen. There are also medium and small lockers available as well.

The Chino-Takato bus timetable should be available in mid-March. We’ll upload it to our website then.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Blair

Thank you for responding 🙂

6 seems like a small number given how busy it will be during cherry blossom season. Will there be any other options if these full up?

One possibility would be to store your luggage at the Chino Tourism Information Center on the second floor of the station. The only caveat is that the center closes at 17:30, so you would have to plan to return before then, preferably before 17:00. Also, the last bus from Takato to Chino arrives past closing time, so you would have to take an earlier bus back to the station.
