I plan to Nagano on 22 – 24 Nov 2017 and I interest in Happo pond at Hakuba, but I\’m not sure can access to this place on this period and the lift open normally ? If it already close would you recommend me to other place like this , thanks.
Hakuba’s Happo pond is a very popular sightseeing spot during summer and fall, but in late November it will most likely be covered in snow. Hakuba Happo One ski resort is planning to open on Nov. 23rd this year, so you may be able to ride the gondola and enjoy views of the valley and mountains from the top of the resort, but you won’t be able to reach the pond. The resort does have a nice outdoor terrace on the mountain where you can enjoy the views. See Hakuba Happo One ski resort’s website for more information.
Another option for beautiful mountain views is Senjojiki Cirque in Komagane (Southern Nagano). The ropeway is open year-round and in mid-November you should be able to see beautiful snowy scenery as well as panoramic views of the Southern Alps.
Or, you could try the Shinhotaka Ropeway near Matsumoto/Kamikochi.
I hope that helps answer your question. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
