Hi Coco,

You can take either the Myotokudanchi (明徳団地), Yonako (米子), or Sen’i (仙仁) line bus from Suzaka Station (須坂駅) to Garyu Park (臥竜公園). Get off at Garyu Koen Iriguchi (臥竜公園入口). The buses from Suzaka station don’t have numbers listed, so please use the Japanese line name as a guide to choose the correct bus. See the links above for timetables in English.

I hope that helps.

Is it also possible to walk from Suzaka station to Garyu Park? about how many minutes walk?

is there entrance fee? any café or shops in the park?

as I search the web it’s in Japanese, I use google translate 1 by 1 very time consuming …

What is the current state of cherry blossoms around Garyu Park and Suzaka City? I can only get there on the 14th April and am worried it might be too late for cherry blossoms then.

Garyu Park’s trees are in half bloom at the moment. We expect full bloom to be on April 10th, but the cherry blossoms should still be looking good on April 14th. Garyu Park’s cherry blossom festival will also be held from April 7th to April 25th.

Your bloom watch page shows Garyu park as being in “peak” right now. That status was during the weekend. Did full bloom come earlier than the April 10th prediction?

It looks like full bloom came on Saturday, three days ahead of our prediction.

The walk from Suzaka Station to Garyu Park takes about 20 minutes. The entrance to the park is free, and there are many yatai food stalls set up around the park during the festival. There are also one or two restaurants on the premises.
