Suwa Area

Known as the Swiss of the Orient, the Suwa area is home to many watchmakers and other precision manufacturers. The views of Yatsugatake and other mountains surrounding Suwa Lake as well as the climate low in humidity add to the comparisons with Switzerland. In the foothills of Yatsugatake and the Venus Line ridge drive, wildflowers blossom colorfully from spring to fall. Access to Shinjuku is convenient.
