This year, French and German versions has been added to the Matsumoto city official tourism website “Matsumoto Welcomes You!”. Now it has eight language versions — English, French, German, Russian, Simplified Chinse, Traditional Chinse, Korean, and Japanese.
The contents vary among each language because we selected information popular for people from countries using that language. For example, Koreans are very interested in mountain climbing, so the Korean version has a “Climbing Northern Alps” page in the menu. We emphasize traditional Japanese culture in the European language versions.

The English and Japanese versions have much more information, so if you can’t search for the information you need in the website of your mother tongue and you understand English and/or Japanese, please browse them, too.

  1. Thank you, that wasreally interesting. Actually,I was born in Russia in 1974 but my mother and I fled and came here to Britain. Truthfully, I didnt care much about my russian heritage until my mother died recently, now I’ve been trying to find out as much as I can. Seemed like cuisine was as good a place as any to start ! You dont generally hear much about russian cuisine do you? Anyway, I found a load of russian recipes here that your readers might be interested in .
