There are around 1000 peaces of beautiful Bonsai trees. Some of img_8069
them are 2m huge, 400 years old or  cost millions of JPY…  I am talking about Bonsai Garden in Obuse town, which belong to the bonsai master Shinji Suzuki – one of the most famous bonsai masters in Japan and therefore the world!

Many of his bonsai are “famous” not only in Japan. You can see them in magazines or national/international art displays.  Some of them even won 1st prize National Prime minister award, Japanese Bonsai assotiation award, Agriculture minister award.

You just walk to this garden stop breathing, open your eyes and mouth and start understanding what is Bonsai culture about.

Entrance is for free.
Mr. Suzuki doesn’t make from this garden very commercial place for visitors, so you can not find any web-page, directions or information. The best is ask locals in Obuse town or in Information center.
