白い御嶽山 Mt. Ontake in White

Rain in the village all day yesterday.  That means snow on Mt. Ontake.  This morning the holy mountain was looking lovely in white.

Ski season must be around the corner.  There are many ski hills here in the Kiso Valley.  Check out these links.

Ontake 2240, the ski hill in Otaki, the village where I live, wOill be having special opening events on December 5th and 6th.

-Free lift tickets for children elementary school-age or under

-Potatoes!  Hokkaido Potatoes!, free with the purchase of a half or full day ticket

Tonjiru (pork stew) and buttered potatoes free to the first 300 customers at 12:00 PM on 12/5 and again on 12/6

-Performance by Okuwa Village Alps Horn Band 12/5 from 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM

-Performance by Otaki Village Children’s Taiko Group (these kids are amazing) 12/5 from 11:45 AM

Wax up your skis or board, or both and come enjoy Kiso’s powder snow.
