Enjoy incredible mountain scenery at Hakuba Iwatake’s newly opened Hakuba Mountain Harbor. Floating above the forest below at 1,289m high, the 320-meter-square terrace directly faces Hakuba’s Sanzan mountains: Shirouma, Shakushi, and Hakuba Yari.

Hakuba’s majestic mountain scenery can be seen here during both the green and winter seasons. The best time to visit, however, is during autumn, when its colored foliage begins to cascade down the mountains as snow crowns the mountaintops. At their peak, you can see Hakuba’s famous three-tiered autumn scenery: white snow, red leaves, and green forest below.

The City Bakery, a New York City institution, has opened a location at the terrace, so you can enjoy fresh pastries (like their pretzel croissant), sandwiches, and coffee while taking in the view. Some exclusive menu items featuring Hakuba specialties will also be available.
