I will be staying in Lake Nojiri for around six weeks starting in late May/early June, so I will have lots of time to explore the area such as Nozawa Onsen, other historic towns/onsens, hiking trails & the like.
This, I would like some information as to how to get around:
I would prefer to travel by public transport (bus & train) whilst staying in the area – is this wise?
Please let me know if there is a bus from Lake Nojiri to Nozawa Onsen & other sites of interest?
If public transport is not ideal, is there a local car hire site so I can mix public transport with car hire?
Since I am staying in the area for so long, is there a site where I can hire trekking guides to show me the trails in the area & tutors to teach me Japanese?
I am very excited to get to know the area, so sorry about my many questions for you : )
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi is sora terrace cafe opening from 10/5/18-13/5/18?
If yes, how can i go to there by public transport?
Hi all. I’m looking to travel from Tokyo, through the Nagano region on the 14th of April, in the hope to see as many cherry blossom spots as possible. So far all of the top spots that I had in mind have had their season come too early (Matsumoto castle, Takato castle park). I would love it if anyone could recommend spots that are likely to be at full bloom or close to it on the 14th of April.
Is it possible that Iiyama city and Iiyama castle ruins would be looking good on that date? Many thanks in advance.
Hi! I am hoping to visit Takato Castle on April 10th. I\’m going to try and go to Inashi station first, but can you help me figure out the bus schedule?
I think the correct timetable is this one: https://takato-inacity.jp/h30/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/159ba80c042dd4a0fa8f49e76d7eeae2.pdf
Can you help me read the schedule? I can read some Kanji (because I can read some Chinese), but I\’m not sure what the right schedule is.
I think I need one of the two schedules on the left, because they are weekday schedules.
What is the difference between the 上 schedule and the 下 schedule on the left? It looks like the first time table on the top left section and the first time table on the bottom left section will get me to the castle park, but not sure what the diference is!
I think I will reach Inashi at 10:37 if that helps.
Thank you in advance!
is Ontake Ropeway open already? Or which Cable car is available now or the coming days? I am staying in Kisofukushima
I am planning my itinerary for my trip to explore Nagano prefecture in late June and I am looking for a means of transport to get to Hakuba from Nagano City. Currently the bus timetable available is from Dec to March, http://www.go-nagano.net/tripinfo/bus-timetables/matsumoto#hakuba.
Just wondering whether this bus service will still be available after that? Also, is there any bus service to Hakuba straight from Tokyo? That would be more convenient.
Please suggest to me an itinerary for viewing Cherry Blossom in Nagano from April 13-15. Also tips for other places to visit nearby and things to do. Many thanks in advance for your suggestions.
We plan to walk from Magome to Tsumago on April 1st and afterwards we need to get to Takayama.
Is the fastest way to do that is to walk to Nagiso and then take trains to tsumago? Hyperdia suggested a few routes but they really varied in length and seemed to only work until early in the afternoon.
Hi, we are planning to visit Nagano from 16 to 18 April.
We will be driving from Kawaguchi-ko to Matsumoto and Nagano city.
During our stay at Nagano, we would like to drive to the Venus Line, Jigokudani Monkey Park, and tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (park the car at Ogizawa).
May I know if there is a chance for us to encounter snowy road and do we need to prepare for snow chains for the car?
I’d like to visit Kamikochi but are only in the area until 20 April, with the official opening not until 27th April this year. I believe that the buses start running a week prior to the official opening. If we visit before to the official opening what can we find open?. Thanks for any advice.
