The Shinshu Campaign is a large-scale tourism campaign running for the three months from October 1 to December 31, 2010. In addition to all six JR companies, Nagano Prefecture and various tourism organizations are sponsoring this campaign. The campaign activities include introducing Shinshu’s manyattractions to people throughout Japan as well as holding various events to enhance the experience people have when visiting Shinshu.

Save your time and money: A special railway free pass to be on sale!
The JR EAST PASS SPECIAL, the limited-period version of JR EAST PASS issued exclusively for tourists from overseas by JR East, is to be sold.
Holders of the “JR EAST PASS SPECIAL” can travel free of charge for any three days in the three-month period from September 1 through November 30, 2010 on the following lines: All JR East lines, Nagano Dentetsu Line, Matsumoto Electric Railway, Ueda Dentetsu Line and Shinano Railway. (Bus rates are not applicable regardless of company.)
Foreign tourists can get a free copy of “ZAGAT NAGANO” English Edition at the JR EAST Travel Service Centers!
The centers at Narita International Airport Station and Narita Airport Terminal 2 Station will present copies to the first 2000 persons/groups to require reserved-car tickets for the Nagano Shinkansen “Asama” Super Express.
