Try Shiga Kogen for skiing in the wilderness

I recently went skiing with the family appropriately enough to Shiga Kogen’s Ichinose Family Ski Area.
Of all of Nagano’s many ski resorts that I’ve been to, Shiga Kogen gets my vote for being so much out in the wilderness. Since it’s in a national park, development has been kept to a minimum.
For those that look forward to a lively apres ski scene, Hakuba or Nozawa Onsen would probably be better. But if you’re like me and appreciate getting out into nature, I suggest Shiga Kogen.
